The collection contains 115 letters to his wife Anita of Roanoke, Va. The letters were written from Greenboro, N.C. during flight training and San Antonio, Texas, during training as a high altitude chamber technician. The letters discuss daily routines, testing, training, and anxiety and frustration over separation from his wife. Of interest are letters describing the use of the High Altitude Pressure Chamber. The scrapbook, probably assembled by his wife, contains documents pertaining to Beecher R. Burnett's enlistment and World War II service including clippings, memoranda, church bulletins, schedules, cards, tags, a small snapshot of [Burnett?] with friends, a postcard folder from Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas, and other memorabilia.
